Yes, it's sad. You try to lead them down the path of good intentions by whispering in their ears, and sometimes it all works beautifully. You can say things like, "Hey, you're the leader of a country founded on individual rights, and your country has been attacked, you can respond by eliminating those rights." Or, "God wants you to be president." And they listen. But other times they just don't seem to be paying attention. In the end, I guess you have to let them grow up and blaze their own trails to Hell.
I'm still mulling my next move, because it could backfire. I wouldn't want to endorse my next-favorite Democratic candidate after Edwards and have it hurt her, would I?
